For the prayers and thoughts and well wishes. Thank you.
We laid mil to rest yesterday. It was supposed to be a cold snowy day with low temperatures.
While the temperature remained low, and the wind was "blustery" the sun shown, reminding us that there is beauty even in death.
As I sat listening to Pastor Shero (Wonderful man) I could just see mom up in paradise painting and making beautiful things with all the perfect colors God has. As pretty as our colors are, His must be much be better because in paradise things are all perfect.
Today begins the transition back to normal. While my Beloved has the week, our dear sons and stbdil had only yesterday. Judy actually on had 1/2 of yesterday, getting off in just enough time to be snatched from work and taken directly to the funeral.
After we all went back to fil's and reminisced. I think mil would have enjoyed the visiting. There were some tears but over all we remembered her with love and laughter.
We will be going back to fil's today to spend time with him and the out of town siblings. We will do the same tomorrow and then Saturday take Beloved's sister back to her flight in Midland.
My fil said yesterday that once the funeral was over it would be time to put it behind us and get on with living. We plan to be there with him. I do not think mil would want us to go on moping and sad. She would want us to get on with living. And so we shall.
It sounds like your mother-in-law's life was celebrated beautifully, Mel. Despite the cold temperatures and blustery wind, the sun was shining ~ the angels were singing.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy being with your family members while they're all there. I think having them around for a couple of days for support as everyone works on transitioning into the new 'normal.' I know it helped me quite a lot.
Continuing to lift you all in prayer, Dear One...
What wonderful memories you must have of your mother in law. So sorry to hear about your loss
