Happy First day! What a glorious morning!

I know it will be hot later but for right now it is wonderful outside.

I stumbled on a blog that I like a couple weeks ago. Lots of tutorial type posts. Plus this week she is hosting a giveaway. She is giving away the new Ball complete Book of Home Preserving. I understand this is the canner's "bible".

I have never canned anything myself, I am chicken. I WANT to can. I LONG to can but I am scared to death of making some one sick. I even have a cabinet full of canning jars, I think there are more in the shed.  I do not have a pressure cooker, am scared of those too. My house is fragile as it is, an explosion in the kitchen might just do her in!
One day I hope to at least try freezer jam. I have some here my dad's recipe for freezer salsa, if my jalapenos and tomatoes had produced I would have made some. I might still, have not decided yet if buying the stuff is worth it yet.
