Getting back to normal...

One day I will have to decide what normal is so I can get back to it...
Today how ever is an energizing day. I am dressed and ready for work. I have 2 loads of laundry working, one I should be able to get put away before I leave!

Supper is in the crock pot, it is an 9 lb pork roast. It has been cooking slowly over night. I will make potatoes and a veggie to go with it. I am thinking of baking bread and cookies after work while I do the rest of the laundry.

I will have to work hard at work to keep my motivation. With so few customers it gets boring. Speaking of I still need to make my sandwich to take along.

My other plan is to cut out a new apron for work. I LOVE the blue one but it is kind of bulky when working on a stepladder. I found some lovely material Friday that will make an excellent apron in the same shade of blue. (Store color) I have an idea for it, I will begin with a pattern then go off on my own. I will post pictures eventually when I get it sewn up.

My throat is not bothering me today, my sinuses still are some but not as bad as the last week. It feels good to have some energy again. Judy and I plan to do a 1 mile walking class today, we even got hand weights to use. I use the Leslie Sansone power walk dvd. I love it but have not worked out with it since November. It is time to begin again. I have the 3 mile walk, but have only managed so far to do a mile and 1/4. i expect today I will have to begin all over and will be lucky to make the mile.

In my reading this morning I read Mark 7 and 8. I read the part where Jesus told the Pharisees that they had left the laws of God and began following the rules of men. I always get chills when I read that. Modern day religions do that too. They push precepts and traditions rather than reading what God says and doing that. I want to strive even harder to follow my Bible, not some religious rules. It seems so odd to me how God makes things simple (He gives us a list of things to be against and things to do, as well as what will tell us if we are on the right path) then men come in and muck it all up, twist it and turn it so what they want to do is ok, but what God says becomes "just a suggestion". That really bothers me.

Well enough rambling I have a lunch to pack!

  1. So glad you are feeling a little better and have some energy today, Mel. Hopefully, you'll still feel that way after work.

What various recipes are you going to use for that pork roast. As soon as I read you had it in the crock pot, my mouth started watering for green chile burros. Yummmm!
