Assessing the week

1) It feels good to end the week with a full freezer. The pantry is also mostly full. There are some things we need to restock on, mostly we need to refill the cooking water jugs. Our water is so hard it literally makes me ill to use it. Plus it yucks up all the pans.

2) I did not get to do everything I had wanted, but I did get some things done I have put off for ages.

3) Though I did only walk 2 days (instead of the planned 3) I feel great. I have had more energy, slept better (except for last night, Beloved had a hard night, which makes me stay awake wishing I could fix it) My goal for next week is the 3 days of walking.

4) I finally decided on the apron pattern to use. I won't be using one... Years and years ago a lady made me an apron. It is simple, 1 piece. The strings are at the top and have notches they fit through at the waist to tie there. They cross over in the back. The apron gives full coverage, and the ties do not hit on the back of the neck (where my badly damaged nerves are). There are 2 reasons I can not wear this to work. 1) it is done in apples 2) no pockets. I NEED pockets in my apron. So today I will lay that apron on a piece of news print and make a pattern from it. Only I will also make pockets for it. I will hopefully have it done tomorrow and will post pics on Wednesday.

5) I am having a blast with this blog. True few actually read it, but it is fun just to right what I am thinking about. I miss writing. I guess I really should get back to it.

6) Top round roast does not work with the cola recipe... Not sure what I will do with the other one but that ain't it! Pork roast with apple juice and brown sugar however, is fantastic and makes great bbq sandwiches. (with home made sauce, and no grill...)

7) I went to the eye doctor yesterday and he says my lens implant is looking great and my natural lens shows no cataract yet. A floater he says but I have had that since birth. My new glasses will be in by the 26th. he wants me to try... progressives bifocals. If they do not work they will trade them out for regular bifocals I have 60 days to decide.

Ok well Beloved says he wants to take me to lunch and to get a few items for the week so I need to get things moving here! Have an awesome Saturday!

  3. Well, I for one, am thrilled you started this blog. I've really enjoyed reading it. I just feel like I'm sitting right there beside you chatting away.

Darling Husbie was recently put on a prescription for progressive bifocals. It took him a little while to get used to them, but he seems to like them now. Praying they will work out for you, too. Praising God for the good report on your lens!
